Matt Bender is an artist at Lowe Mill Studio 101 who work is inspired by the natural world and the broad diversity of the flora and fauna that surrounds us. He invites the viewer to consider their relationship with plants and animals. He keeps the process and design loose so that the energy and impression of the subject is conveyed through the stroke of the gouges and knives. Matt was drawn to printing in relief by the mark making and the engagement of the tools with the substrate and how the subject emerges by reducing the material. Typically, he works in reduction, where the same block is gradually carved away for each successive color.

Matt's creation for HEOS is Schrödinger's Cat in his signature style on a T-shirt. HEOS will be selling these custom works of art on hand printed T-shirts for $30. Please select the desired size and color style.
