Chandra S. Vikram Memorial Lectures
Brilliant, innovative, gracious and esteemed are all words that describe
the late Chandra S. Vikram. In recognition of his important contributions
to optics and his outstanding human character, the Huntsville Electro-Optical
Society (HEOS) is establishing an annual memorial conference. This is
an opportunity for scientists and engineers from all fields of optics
to carry on the tradition of scholarly excellence and the communal spirit
of optics research that Professor Vikram embodied.
We are soliciting 50-100 word abstracts of topics to be presented at
a one day conference to be held at the University of Alabama in Huntsville
on February 28, 2008. The conference will feature a welcoming address
from our special guest, UAH President Dr. David B. Williams.
